Broke da Arm

armAunty is now a patient, feeling impatient.  Last Wednesday, she tripped on someone’s driveway while walking a dog and broke 2 bones just above her left wrist.

Surgery was done on Friday.  Recovery seems slow – but there is no way to rush it.

Time has been slowed down, too.  Life goes on, and the weeds are rejoicing because Aunty’s daily yard duties have been curtailed – for now.

  1. OHHHH YIKES! You really, really BROKE your arm big time! And mom fell on the 21st and hit her head and back. Didn’t break anything though. She must have a hard head. And surgery too? Pins? I know it takes about 6 weeks to heal. Please take good care of yourself. Weeds can wait.

    • hope your mom is strong and well.

may has been a doozy of a month. stock traders say “buy in may and go away” but i’ll pay more attention next year and think “go slow in may and don’t break anything.” i know it doesn’t rhyme. maybe “go slow in may and don’t husk hay?”

yep, surgery – a titanium plate and screws since it did break in pieces. weeds are enjoying themselves.

  2. Poor Aunty!
But I’ll bet you have plenty of friends nearby that would help weed your garden for you.
I know I would, but I live Makakilo and I don’t go that side of Red Hill unless someone has a gun to my head.
    Rest and get well!

    • thanks bill, i won’t hold a gun to your head! you are like me – from different directions. i don’t go to your side – haven’t even seen the concrete mess of the rail yet!

  3. Whaaaaaat? And did you bruise your shoulder too? Oh no! Love your outfit BTW. Wishing you a speedy(er) recovery.

    • i fell pretty hard and had ouwees all over. i can only figure out how to wear tops with button down fronts so i wear the same shirt (in 3 different colors, lol) every day.

  4. So sorry to hear about the unfortunate accident, Aunty, hope recovery goes quickly & you’re back to weeding in your beautiful garden, you manage to look just as stylish as ever.
