Recall on Protandim
Aunty is a distributor of Protandim (see Aunty’s review). This recall notice came into Aunty’s email. I am posting it here because I might have given you a bottle to try in the last few months, and most likely, that bottle was one of the recalls since 6 out of 6 bottles on Aunty’s shelf were the affected ones. Even Aunty Mimi had 2 out of 2!
Anywho, please let me know and Aunty will get replacements:
We are informing you of a voluntary product recall involving select lots of Protandim® dietary supplements. The specific lots subject to the recall are shown below.
Protandim® is packaged in a cylindrical blue bottle and contains thirty caplets per bottle. The lot numbers are located on the left side of the product label when looking at the front of the label, directly above the RFID scan bar.

We have initiated this action to alleviate concerns about the possible inclusion in the final product of small metal fragments that were discovered in certain batches of turmeric extract, an ingredient in Protandim® that was purchased from a third party supplier. After consulting with medical experts, the Company believes that these materials pose no serious risk to consumers’ health. Furthermore, the Company has not received any report of a health problem related to this issue. However, if you experience any adverse medical event, please contact your physician.
We have implemented even more stringent measures, including several redundant measures, in our manufacturing process to catch contaminants in the future to ensure that your Protandim® remains safe.
We shipped the lots subject to this recall between July and November 2012. Please examine your inventory of Protandim® immediately to determine if you have bottles of Protandim® on hand. If you do, please cease use of the product and destroy them immediately. If you have sold or given away any of the recalled product, please notify, immediately, the person who received the recalled product. Your notification to your customers and others should include a copy of this letter. Please keep track of who you notified, when you notified them, and how each was notified by you.
Once you have destroyed the product, please complete the online RECALL RESPONSE FORM as soon as possible. Once we receive the completed form, replacement product will be shipped to the address provided. LifeVantage’s number one priority is consumer safety. K’den, hope this problem blows away and everyone is okay. Aunty really loves what this product does for her health and will continue taking it forever.
Ooops, and then there were more….
Well, just recently, in February 2013, LifeVantage recalled more bottles as well as sample packs. These are older than the first bunch, so they are probably already consumed. However, if you do have old bottles that were not affected by the first recall notice, please check them again with this latest recall. Apologies in advance from Aunty if you have to go through this recall process.
